Problem with 2008 dodge pickup. How does hydraulics work with clutch? What does replacing cluth entail? - problem with konus rifle scope

My 2006 Dodge pickup manual transmission is not a change that too much pressure. Shifts well, then it does not work and may change once the rpms up. Took to the dealer and fixed the water still has the same problem and now they want $ 3k to replace the clutch. Something does not smell good? Any help in getting the clutch and hydraulics?
